John Maloof acquired Vivian’s negatives while at a furniture and antique auction. Vivian Maier was a street photographer from the 1950s – 1970s, based in Chicago. Her discovered work includes between 30-40,000 mostly medium format negatives. Since the discovery, John has created a photography blog dedicated to Vivian Maier’s work in which he publishes her pictures.
Cary Conover is a freelance photographer based in New York City. He is also the editor of VisualDiaries.com, “a sort of ongoing diary of imagery” created by Cary to facilitate the “separation of professional work from personal work”.
